CentralTrak tete-a-tete with Erica Stephens
Join us at CentralTrak on Friday, May 6th at 7pm for the first in a series of discussions on the role of higher education and residency programs in the career path of an artist.
This panel will be moderated by Dallas artist Erica Stephens and will feature artist and adjunct educator H Schenck and Thomas Riccio, performance artist and Professor of Performance and Aesthetic Studies at the University of Texas at Dallas.
This first in a series of panels will focus on what a BFA or MFA in today's market and economy must provide to be considered a valuable degree, and what role residencies may or may not play in filling these requirements. We will approach these topics with our panelists, one of whom is an adjunct and the other a full time instructor; both of them also have experience with residency and alternative programs in the arts. Comments and conversations surrounding these topics are welcomed and encouraged! Bring your notes and join us this Friday evening to start an open dialogue about the state of arts education and professional practices in Dallas.
